Insecurity: Edeoga names insecurity sponsors, says those against state police mischievous

Chijioke Edeoga, the dismissed guber candidate of Labour Party in Enugu State has lambasted those working against the creation of state police, describing them as mischievous and treacherous individuals.

Mr Edeoga in an interview with Punch correspondent, Raphael Ede spoke extensively on the national issues especially as it concerns the insecurity bedevilling the South Eastern zone said that many unscrupulous individuals are fighting state police creation in order to leave the region to suffer from the incessant killings and kidnapping being perpetrated by the Eastern Security Network, an IPOB militia group.

Mr Edeoga went further to blame the likes of Nnamdi Kanu, Emma Powerful and other top Igbo politicians for equipping the militia group with sophisticated riffles and different kinds of ammunition, stating that this development has become a cankerworm eating into the fabrics of Igbo economy, cohesiveness and peacefulness.

He further asserted that state police should be encouraged by all in order to clampdown the activities of IPOB members and its militia wing.

“Since state police could not be encouraged by leaders, and nothing urgently is being done to reduce the rate of insecurity in the zone, the Nigerian Army should be invited to conduct its Operation Python Dance again in the zone. The Igbo nation needs urgnt clean up. People are being killed like chickens, the kidnapping index is topping the list and our people are no longer safe as well as their businesses.

Igbo nation is gradually sliding into comatose. Mgbuji-community’s 14 villages have been occupied for almost one year now by this IPOB terrorists. In Ichie, the Unado is a no-go area. Igbo-Eze North is a no-go area, and gradually we are losing territory to ESN members and other forms of occupants and miscreants,” Mr Edeoga said.
