News Break: Labour Party guber candidate, Edeoga promises to ban Keke, Okada operation in Enugu

By Kenneth Odoh

Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State has assured the people of the state that his administration shall not relent in getting rid of the Okada and Keke operational activities in Enugu State.

Mr. Edeoga, in an interactive meeting with the Enugu Proprietors Association, held at Osteen Base Arena, Enugu stated that using Keke Napep, otherwise known as a tricycle, and the activities of the Okada riders should come to an end due to their perceived recklessness.

He assured that his administration shall revamp the railway system that will connect both the rural and Urban areas, maintaining that the urban cities shall have trains that will convey people from one street to the other.

He lamented that many people have been dead and some sustained various degrees of injuries that have made them remain maimed for their entire life due to the carelessness of these motorcycle and tricycle operators, asserting that people’s lives are too precious to be entrusted in the hands of these desperate youths who are hell-bent on making this money no matter what it costs them.

Edeoga went further to assure the school owners all over the state that special trains shall be built specifically for the students in order to reduce the suffering of guardians who always go to drop their children at school every morning.

“Some things need to be put in place in Enugu State. We should sacrifice some things in order for development to take place. The activities of motorcyclists and try cyclists are being seen in Enugu State as a danger to all. Enugu has become a dumping ground for tricycle operation to the extent that Nothern youths are now getting our roads locked up with Keke-Napeps and motorcycles. We shall ban them and bring in modern railway system to ease the transportation problems we are facing”, the guber candidate vows.
